Why you should go to YOKOWA Japanese Restaurant in Singapore [REVIEW] [ENG]

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog! Have you ever tried Japanese food but in fine-dining theme? So, last week I've finally tried the latest fancy Japanese Restaurant in Singapore called Yokowa. The unique things in here is all the staff are Korean. But it not makes the food taste not authentic anymore, because the head chef is from Japan itself. The place is like a shophouses, but with 2 floor. The first one is more casual, and the second floor is more private. The ambience is very comfortable and I like it so much.

 The view from outside restaurant

We can see the menu from Ipad or the menu book itself.

And yes, it's open kitchen. We can see the chef prepare sushi and sashimi in front of us.

The room is provided for private dining or meeting.

They put hangings to separate every table so people will feel more private.

FOODS:
We can see the details of the food from Ipad for more clearer picture.

All of the order, already include o-cha(green tea) or ice water.

This is the full set food A(bottom left), B(top left), and C(right), all the set come with miso-shiru, chawan mushi and one box of Japanese rice (inside have lots of tiny anchovy, edamame beans, gingko nuts, and Japanese rice that proclaims very healthy).

Closer look to the beautiful sashimi.

There also Unagi and Tempura. The tempura cooked perfectly.

The texture of the chawan-mushi is very bouncy and soft.

This is the most favourite dishes in YOKOWA, chankonabe, the dishes commonly eaten by sumo wrestlers, inside the pot have soup, vegetables, meatballs, sliced pork, and udon.

I've been given a chance to taste Japanese sake, it taste a little bit like soju from Korea.

We can pick which one that we want to use for drinking sake.

Last but not least, this is the dessert, milk pudding. For me, the texture look like beancurd pudding but with milk taste.

The most favourite food that I will definitely come back and eat again is the set menu. I like all the dishes, especially the tamago, and also the chicken karaage which for me, the taste is very crispy. And I also like YOKOWA Agedashi Tofu, I've never like Agedashi tofu so much before, and this place served the tofu very well. Don't forget to try the tempura and also unagi, I have to say, their cook is amazing. This place is very nice for eating, dating, or maybe meeting. You can also bring your partner here. The price also worth it, start from $18 - $28 for the set menu, and their food and dessert start from $8 - $55

SCORE:
Food: 9/10
Ambience: 8/10
Service: 9/10

Don't forget to reserved first before you come, it might become very full in some occasion.
